Dear ISCT Community
It is with great pleasure that I am able to announce the appointment of Mrs Kascha Reed as the new Principal of the International School of Cape Town with effect from 1 January 2023.
The Education Development Trust, supported by the school’s Board of Governors, undertook a rigorous international selection process from which Mrs Reed emerged as our clear candidate of choice from over 100 applications.
In 2020 Mrs Reed was appointed as Deputy Principal. Despite joining us during the tumultuous beginnings of the COVID pandemic. In the last few years, she has actively applied her extensive international experience to drive significant improvements in our educational, pastoral and managerial processes. She quickly proved herself to be an invaluable asset to the school, the management and the community at large. We have every confidence in her ability to step into David Hunter’s shoes at the start of next year and look forward to her leading us into an exciting future for ISCT and we welcome the stability her appointment will also bring to our community.
The next six months will see a detailed hand-over to Mrs Reed in order to enable her to fully grasp the reins of the school with the full support of Mr Hunter, the Board of Governors and the EDT management team. We will also be arranging several opportunities for parents and students to engage directly with her as she shapes her views and approach in her new role.
I trust that you will join with me and the Board of Governors in celebrating this appointment of someone to whom we can safely entrust the further growth and development of our school.
Yours sincerely,
Patrick Brazier – Chief Executive Education Development Trust
Tanya Kabalin – Chair ISCT Board of Governors
