Introducing THE ISCT Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
At ISCT, we believe that the partnership between parents and the school is crucial to creating an environment where our students thrive. To enhance this relationship and foster an inclusive and supportive school community, we are excited to announce that we are transitioning back to our original name: The Parent Teacher Association (PTA). This change reflects our commitment to bringing together parents, teachers, and staff to work collaboratively to support the academic and social development of our students.
We are thrilled to introduce our new PTA Chair, Kirsty Gilmour, who will be leading the PTA this year. Kirsty brings a wealth of experience from her background in healthcare and education. She strongly believes that parent participation is key to creating an academically successful and vibrant school community where students feel a sense of belonging and connection.
We are also excited to announce Renachia Armino as the new PTA Vice Chair. Renachia is a member of the ISCT staff, serving as the Primary School Drama Teacher, and she is also a parent at the school. With her passion for education and strong organisational skills, Renachia will play an essential role in supporting the PTA’s efforts to ensure our school remains a dynamic, inclusive, and engaging environment for all.
We welcome Desireé Stovall as the new PTA Secretary. Desireé brings a wealth of experience from her career as a retired Makeup Artist Department Head in the film industry, where she honed organization, budgeting, and clear communication. As a proud mom of two children in Year 3 and Year 4, she is passionate about building a bridge between parents, teachers, and school leadership to create a stronger, more connected community.
With a creative spirit and a love for gaming and Star Wars, Desireé is excited to bring her unique perspective and skills to the PTA this year.
The committee will be supported by parent volunteers on an ad hoc basis. For example, Mariam Bardien is supporting the PTA with merchandise for the school shop, and Bonnie Berkowitz, the lead for the uniform shop, continues to support the community and is known to many of the parents.
We understand that many parents may feel hesitant about committing to ongoing roles, so we want to emphasize that involvement in the PTA can be on an ad hoc basis and does not require a significant time commitment. Whether you have a little time to spare or want to engage more deeply, there is a place for you in our PTA.
