Parent Involvement

We believe that parental engagement leads to student success. Find out how you can get involved in your child’s education.

PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

PTA is primarily a social organisation. The main goal of the PTA is to promote fun and social events. The secondary goal is fundraising. Members organise a number of key events throughout the year, including coffee mornings, parent dinners and the annual ISCT Founders’ Day fair.

The PTA suggests and delivers projects that benefit ISCT and its wider community.  We ask all our parents to help with at least one project a year to ensure it’s success.

The PTA has portfolios for sport, gardening, social outreach, and more.

MY SCHOOL CARD

Support ISCT or your favourite charity without costing you a cent. MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is South Africa’s biggest community support programme which raises funds for schools and charities in order to improve education and social development. MySchool allows anyone to raise funds for their favourite school or charity. It really is so easy! Apply for a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card today. It’s free. Swipe your card at retailers across the country every time you shop. The store will donate a percentage of your purchase to ISCT or your selected beneficiary, on your behalf.

READING

Struben House parents have the opportunity to read to their children’s class at story time. There is a sign-up roster outside the classroom.

UNIFORM SHOP

The Uniform Shop is run by the PTA who are always looking for volunteers to assist them. Please email pta@isct.co.za if you’d like to help—this is a great way of getting to know the other parents at ISCT!

CLASS REPS (PARENTS)

Our hope is that every class has a parent class representative. Their role ranges from welcoming new parents and classmates to coordinating birthday cards for teachers and end-of-year parties.
