Key Stage 2 Teacher

We are seeking a suitably qualified and passionate Key Stage 2 educator to contribute to our nurturing and supportive learning environment. Applicants should have experience in teaching Key Stage 2 aged children (7-11) and should indicate their ability and experience in the following:
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree qualification or equivalent

- The ability to integrate technology into lessons, particularly iPads, would be an advantage

Head of Geography Department (Cambridge curriculum)
start date 10 July 2025
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Geography to lead our small Geography department. This is a geography leadership position responsible for overseeing strategic direction, curriculum development, and teaching standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching across the high school.
- Oversee curriculum development, aligning it with Cambridge International standards to foster inquiry-based learning.
- Teach Geography to Years 7–13, delivering engaging lessons and supporting top academic outcomes.
- Provide leadership and direction for the Geography Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies to engage students in geographic exploration.
- Monitor and enhance teaching and learning practices, mentoring staff to ensure professional growth.
- Develop effective assessment strategies to track student progress and drive high performance.
- Collaborate with, plan, liaise, and reflect with the other member of the teaching team
- Promote and encourage student involvement in geographic competitions and camps.
- Foster interdisciplinary learning by working closely with other departments.
- Liaise with school leadership, parents and external stakeholders to enhance the department’s performance.
- Contribute to school-wide leadership, supporting the academic vision of the International School of Cape Town.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree and PGCE or BEd with specialization in the subject to be taught.
- SACE registered.
- Experience teaching IGCSE, AS & A Level equivalent, with a track record of strong results.
- Proven leadership skills in managing Geography departments or teams, both large and small.
- Strong strategic vision for Geography education and department development.
- A passion for inquiry-based learning, education, and student success.
- Experience working in high-achieving academic or international settings.
- Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Terms and Conditions
The International School of Cape Town is totally committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects the same from its employees. All prospective staff will be expected to provide the following prior to confirmation of appointment:
- A police criminal record clearance (no less than 6 months old) from the country of current / most recent employment, a Sexual Offenders Register clearance, and a Child Protection Register clearance

- Certified copies of your qualifications
