Last week the Reception classes went on their second term outing to the Planetarium. Part of our theme in the second term was Space and the Planetarium has a special show exploring the planets. The Reception children joined Davey the Dragon as he flew past the planets trying to find earth. We learnt all about the planets in our solar system and enjoyed lying back in our special chairs – it felt like we were really out in space! At the end of the show we were able to see what our night sky looks like during autumn and winter. It was so interesting to see where the Southern Cross and Orion’s belt are but we aren’t to sure if we’ll be able to find them on our own… luckily we got a sky map to take home with us.
