Curriculum Overview

The curriculum for Pre-Reception to Year 9 is essentially an international version of the UK National Curriculum in that students follow the basic outline of the UK curriculum, with adaptations to bring in local content. Students from Year 10 onwards follow the relevant syllabi leading to Cambridge International Examinations at IGCSE , AS and A Level. Our students have excelled in these exams, producing results that are well above the world-wide average at all levels. Indeed, the school has already developed a reputation for high academic standards.

The School offers an international curriculum based upon the finest contemporary educational practice. The curriculum is sufficiently broad to allow all of its students to develop and to realise their full potential. Thus, one of the principal objectives of the School is to provide all students with a range of educational experiences to prevent undesirable premature academic specialisation.

The School is divided into fifteen-year groups. The following table explains the difference between South African grade levels and ISCT classes:
